For information on getting a Wyoming State work permit or license call the State at  307-777-7288 or go to thier website at http://wyofire.state.wy.us. On the state website click on the Electrical Safety tab on the right and the next page to the left click on Examinations and Licensing requirements.  Be sure and fill out the information completely. A notarized letter from your Local, showing at least 8,000 hours of on the job experience and 4 years of apprenticeship training is what the State needs. If your on the job hours are after March 1st, 1994 apprenticeship training is required. If your on the job hours are before March 1st, 1994 apprentice training was not required.  We have a sample letter that we can fax to your hall that the state will accept, as a normal travel letter doesn't always have everything the state needs. This will take care of page 5 in the application. The fee for a temporary permit is $50.00 and is good for 45 days with extensions up to 150 days. There is no fee for an extension. The fee to take the state test is $100.00. To be sure that you have the proper information in your notorized travel letter please call the State at 307-777-7288. You can fax your information to the State to go over to be sure thier requirements are met.
